Erdogan confused: Snipers target my troops from churches in Syria
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared confused as he spoke of some forces targeting his fighters during his military aggression under the name of Operation "Spring of Peace" in northern Syria.
Erdogan addressed the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) parliamentary bloc on Wednesday, claiming that his aggression against Syria would end automatically when he left the safe zone designated by Turkey in northern Syria.
"There are tunnels used by the organizations in Syria that are more than 90 kilometers long, and the cement they built comes from a French company," Erdogan said.
"My forces are being shot by snipers from inside the church."
Turkey claims that the operation is aimed at eliminating threats posed by Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) fighters and ISIS militants.
